this is really striking, and i like the mix of mediums.

I like the composition (AND OF COURSE, THE SUBJECT!) but I think if you lightened up the picture... not to lighten the mood, just to bring out some of the details... you'll have a stronger-looking piece. Or maybe just bump up the contrast. Either way, something to bring the three-dimensional feel back to the photo.
